Service

INDICATIONS

  • Caries active individuals.
  • Children having severe early childhood dental caries.
  • Those who take medications that decrease salivary flow or have received radiation to head and neck region.
  • Exposed roots of teeth causing sensitivity in people having periodontitis.
  • Mentally and physically challenged individuals (who can’t clean their teeth properly and are more caries prone).

 

2 TYPES:

A) TOPICAL

  • Professional application by dentist (more effective).
  • Self-application (toothpaste, gels, mouth rinses, etc.)

B) SYSTEMIC

  • Circulate through bloodstream and are incorporated into developing tooth.
  • Modes are:
    1. Fluoridation of drinking water.
    2. Fluoride tablets, etc.
